Lightwater Connected operates as the engine-room of the whole group and performs the role of coordinator of a number of voluntary groups.
It’s co-founder and current Chairman, Windsor Rackham, has been involved in volunteering in the village for over 10 years and in that time has been instrumental in creating LIVE (an advice and signposting service no longer operating), the Lightwater Resilience Plan (during Covid in 2020), Lightwater Connected, Lightwater Society (now a separate organisation running Fayres in the Square, special events and the LRP) and the Lightwater Men’s, Ladies and Mixed social groups.
Lightwater Connected has been through several stages of development since its creation in 2020 and is currently providing full administrative support for the Fete, LVIS, the litter-picking group and its own special projects.
It aims to be a key source of new ideas and will provide support for new and existing projects in the village.
It has just started a partnership with the ‘Village Life’ magazine to provide a bi-monthly Information Bulletin on all activities happening throughout Lightwater and will be continuing to develop this idea during 2026. The January and February 2026 edition is shown below and gives a complete list of activities taking place within the voluntary sector in Lightwater.
If you would like to offer your services and bring your own special talents to the group, you will find there is no barrier to your ideas or creativity. All will be encouraged and nurtured to fruition – just contact lightwater-connected@googlegroups.com
